Two Halves, a local one in Napa in May, then, my body willing, Half Vineman. If all goes well, I have my sights on IMFL in November. I have huge laziness issues to work out, tho, and my coach is a tremendous help. If you don't have a coach, even an affordable online one helps like crazy.

OldAg..good to see another Aggie on here! I'm class of '91

I actually put off posting my IM b/c I hadn't talked to Phil. I wasn't going to sign up for an IM in '06. I work in ministry (as does Phil now) and the pay ain't so great, so I had decided to wait a year and save some money. Then, another friend decided he was going to sign me up for IMWI and did - I'm still trying to decide if he's really a friend at this point. :-)

That was a long winded way to say that Phil and I bailed on IMCdA for financial considerations. We're talking about Florida right now. We'll see.

For some very sick reason I have this desire to try Lanzarote.  I'm pretty sure I'd only do 1 IM so it would be cool to do arguably the hardest course.  It's also the week of my birthday and finally you don't have to sign up until virtually the last minute.  Who knows, if I can get 2 or 3 months of solid training under my belt, I might decide to actually commit to it.  Just a thought.

For any IMFL hopefuls that haven't seen the news, yet:

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla.-The seventh annual Ford Ironman Florida Triathlon is set to take place in Panama City Beach, Fla., on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005.

Ford Ironman Florida, held each November, is one of the most popular events on the Ironman schedule. The 2005 event closed to general entry in less than 10 hours.

What's the news? That you have to be quick to get in?

That, too, but IMFL 06 was up in the air for a while. It is finally confirmed. Good news only if you are quick on the trigger...

it's so tempting...so tempting. *sigh*...no...wait a year....you're poor....but you can take out loans...stupid lack of internal dialog. LP would be so kick ass, but WI is a close second for my 07 attempt (yes, that far ahead).

So it is confirmed?  In Panama City Beach?  Seems like I had heard rumors about it moving but I can't remember where I had heard that.

If it's still in PCB and I can get in, I am there.  Otherwise I might look at the Redman iron distance in Oklahoma City.
