Subject: speaking of Thanksgiving......

What are you eating? I'll be cooking for two separate meals.

First meal

Full-on roast turkey and gravy
"Traditional" bread dressing with dried cranberries, pecans, and country ham
Mushrooms in Manhattan sauce

Second meal (I bring dessert)

Chocolate cloud cake (Flourless cake with 13 oz of various forms of chocolate, and a full pot of espresso)
Flan-topped pound cake

I'll start cooking on Tuesday before. I'm stoked.

Yep, it's magically delicious. All I have to do is weasel the recipie out of my wife's aunt, who had to weasel it out of her Mexican co-worker.....maybe I'll call it weasel cake.

I will be in Manhattan and the chef-in-charge of my friend's kitchen. I was going to go with beef wellington and plan a menu around that but haven't made a final decision.

Wednesday evening we are going to the blowing of the Macy's parade balloons party, the next morning we're going to the parade.

Mushrooms in manhattan sauce is perfect with beef

saute 8oz. sliced mushrooms in as much butter as you dare use (at least 2tbsp) with 4-6 cloves minced garlic.
add
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
1 oz burboun
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp worstershire
splash of good balsamic(sp) vinegar
black pepper to taset
simmer to reduce liquid by half
