Pre-race routine:

had some oatmeal w/ clif shot (had to use up what was left in the dispenser after the 1/2 mary) and some coffee. headed to the race.
Event warmup:

did the kids race with ella. headed to the 5k start area and did some light stretching.
Run

  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

felt okay at the start, but by mile 2 i could really tell that i was still sick (plus i REALLY had to pee!). just like the frigid 5 back in january where i ran after a bought with the flu, there's nothing like running to make you realized if you're really over a cold or not.
What would you do differently?:

not get sick? put up with the port-a-pot lines.
Post race
Warm down:

hung out for the awards - girls won best kids costume!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nasty cold/sinus infection. full bladder. lack of training this month.

Event comments:

nice meeting up with fellow bt'ers! :) i love doing a race during the candyfest weekend. the girls had a good time racing and winning best costume.

Nice race Autumn!!

Great day for you and the girls!! Hope you are feeling better soon...lots to do tonight!

I didn't see the pictures of your girls on the link.

Bummer about having to pee much of the race...always a concern for me during races...not like a tri with a swim start!

Great run Autumn! Despite your cold and full bladder, you still beat both me and Mark! LOL We are speed demons!

I didn't see age group results; I'll have to go a look again.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well - but a good time nonetheless!  Wish I could have joined you!  I bet the girls had fun.

okay here are some pictures, including some wonderful pictures of the girls, AND one of the worst photos of me EVER! the running shot of me makes me look like my torso is twice as long as my legs. yikes! http://www.fidean.net/pix/05halloweenp2/05halloweenp2.html
