Sorry- i don't get the whole pulgging thing, but whenever I see that word I think of hair plugs for men.  Can't help it!

So Janelle...in Holland (and other places) they have these things called "dikes." They are walls (basically) that keep water from overrunning cities. In Louisiana (and other places), they are called "levees." During Katrina, levees breached causing massive flooding of New Orleans.

Now, there is the famous fable of The Little Dutch Boy. In it, he plugs a dike with his finger to keep a city from flooding na dis hailed as a hero.. In another thread, welshy said he had fat fingers which he said weren't good for much. I suggested that they might be good for plugging dikes, a la the Little Dutch Boy.

It just so happens, however, that "dike" is a homonym (a word that sounds like, but is spelled differently and has different meaning than another) for a certain derogatory descriptor for a person of a certain sexual orientation. Some people reading that thread may have gotten the impression that, even though I said "dike", I meant to use the homonym. Even though I later in the thread said that I chose the vowel in the word I used extremely carefully. If what I said was misconstrued, then that certainly isn't my fault.

No...wocorking is dirty and plugging isn't.
