Pre-race routine:

Had a yoghurt, OJ & banana for breakfast, went down to the race, picked up my packet and milled around for a little while.
Event warmup:

Normal walk - short jog - stretching like I do before any training run.

Comments:

Goal was to run 10 minute miles which would be a bit faster than my training runs but definately doable. I acually remembered to start my watch at the start but missed the 1 mile split. Settled into a normal pace. Got my split at mile 2 and saw it was slow so I picked it up from there on. I got a little bit of a cramp at mile 3 so let up briefly but I was able to control it & kept my pace up to the finish.

Pretty cool to see such a sea of people clogging up the street ahead and behind you although I think I ran an extra mile just zig zagging around people. I figured the crowd would thin out after a couple of miles but it didn't too much.
What would you do differently?:

Not much really. Get that one mile split.
Post race
Warm down:

Wandered around - got some water & blueberry muffins & yoghurt. Ran into Aaron & Lianna & chatted with them for a while.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

People in the way, but it wasn't too bad.

Event comments:

Good time for my first running race. Times based on gun time, not chip time which seems kind of dumb. I listed my chip time.

Great race!!   I did this one too - and probably ran an extra mile trying to go around people...but it didn't frustrate me - I just was there for the fun.

Good job! I did this one as well (I'm workoutbunny's daughter), and I third the motion about an extra mile zig-zagging. But it was fun.
