Comments:

side aches at mile 2 probably because i ate pie. mistook split timing so i thought i was way under pace but i was really way ahead of it so i pushed pretty and ended up walking a quarter mile around mile 10 up hill, then finished running
Post race
Warm down:

walked around did light stretching was really cold and wet had a space blanket but felt pretty exhausted

What limited your ability to perform faster:

poor pacing

Event comments:

i dont know if i missed it or if they didnt have one but i didnt see a gel station which i was planning for so i had to change my in race nutrition a little bit with more gatorade and less water

I know I saw some maps (maybe in the registration books/pamplets) that advertised GU stations.  I remember them being around the 6-7 mile mark area...   Good time for your race.

Hmmm pie as a pre race snack....maybe NOT next time.<img align='middle' src='https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/wink.gif'>

So was this the first Half Mary?

yeah, it was my first mary and also at the same time my first 13 mile run. yeah the weather was a little chilly at the start and warmed up a couple degrees enough, the sun was a little bothersome,i remember a couple places just closing my eyes when i ran, pretty surreal. good thing overall
