Subject: RE: Driving in the Snow Sure, first good snowfall, head to the nearest open parking lot and experiment. Accelerate, brake, steer, where you have plenty of room to not hit anything. Exactly. Last night I'm pondering my navel, and it's not big enough...so I run out for a turkey sub, and it's snowing. Hard. Turkey sub in hand, I'm headed home, and - well lookee there - Lo and behold, the parking lot of the store is empty and coated with a fresh, slick coating of wonderful powder, layered with ice. I made pretty designs and wasted about $40 in gas in about 4 minutes. I am now a parking brake expert, and I know the exact amount of slide a 3 ton vehicle will have in various inclement conditions. Will I ever grow out of this? I hope not. |
