Subject: RE: Would you.....?I remember back to the day when I absolutely loved my job ... challenging, rewarding, intellectually stimulating, etc. I loved it so much that I easily worked 80-90 hrs per week (taking Sundays off, so that ought to tell you the crazy hours) and traveled to 2-3 cities a week, 3 weeks out of the month. My youngest (and only at the time) was just turning one. I had spent so much time on the road, that he started calling his grandfather (who lived nearby "Dada" . I realized then that while I loved my job, my family suffered for it. I quit, changed vocations and went corporate ... and have been there for 5 yrs. I say all that to say: your job is your job - it is not your life. Make the most out of your job, but live your life. If they are paying for your PhD, great ... work with it until you are able to reach your goal and find a better opportunity. In the interim, though, use your frustration to "train angry"! |
