How is everyone celebrating Mother's Day?  We're going out to the Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant, for dinner on Saturday (a lot less crowded than Sunday).  Sunday morning is a Mother's Day sprint duathlon that I will be in.  My hubby is supposed to be in it too, but recently injured a muscle which is preventing him from running.  Our 11-year-old said he'd do a relay with him and run while hubby bikes, but now he's waffling on that decision.  I hope they can do the relay.  It'll be great.  The 8-year-old will be volunteering the race.

After that, it's church and then hubby has to go to work in the afternoon.

As not yet a mother myself, my attention WOULD HAVE been focused on my mother. However, she has officially post-poned Mother's Day until next weekend. (I wonder if she has a hot date???)

But next weekend, my brother's and I will gather to do yardwork for her (after I put in a bike ride with crpediam (aka nancy) at 7am!)

Oh--and BTW, happy mom's day to all that the title can be applied to!! (o:

We won't be doing much for Mother's Day (I'm not a mom, yet). My mom lives in Louisiana so I'll probably call her, as well as an aunt or two (in the south they're more like back-up moms). We're heading down there the following weekend to embark on a cruise, and I'm hoping to spend a couple of hours with the folks, and maybe take mom (and dad) out for breakfast.

Of course, the funny part of Mother's Day this year is going to be with my BF's mom. She was up visiting last weekend and brought her own Mother's Day card for him to sign and mail to her (supposedly because she's tired of not getting one from him). So, in addition to that card, I went and bought about 10 more cards, which he signed and we mailed earlier this week so she'd get them all by this weekend. I know, it's a total smart-aleck thing to do, but ... funny anyway!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there!

My day will consist of calling my mother ( who lives 4/10 of a mile from me), and going for a loooong ride alone.  The best part is, I am NOT going to do laundry    Of course it will just all be waiting for me on monday.

I'm probably going out for a long bike ride, then I think my sons will come over with their "significant others" to say the usual "Hello" and do a general raid of the refrigerator.

Malvey will be swimming, biking and running on Mother's Day. I will be hiking (thru the grocery store), cooking and sunning. Does that count as a tri??
He promised to make it up to me, I will make him pay up big time. I was promised a massage by him. He probably forgot.
By the way enjoy your moms while you have them as mine passed away unexpectedly 7 years ago.
Happy Mother's day to all of you!! :-)

I'm stuck with being on call this weekend. However, we do have a nice dinner planned for the entire family Sunday p.m. It's at a nice restaurant so all the moms can relax and enjoy. I'd cook, but they deserve much better than mac and cheese or totino's party pizzas! :-)

I am forgetting this Mother's Day as my mom unexpectedly passed away last month. I plan to swim in the afternoon and let my husband and daughter wait on me for the rest of the day. To me, Mother's Day is much more about giving than it is about receiving, hence my attitude.

Aikane, sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. My Mom died unexpectedly 7 years ago. Mother's Day is still a very hard day for me, even though I have two kids of my own. We had planned on my daughter racing on Sunday, but have to cancel because both kids are not feeling great. My son just finished a week final exams and AP exams and is now sick with a wicked cold. My daughter is just feeling blah. So, instead of racing, we will take my Mother-in-law out for lunch and spend the rest of the day resting and catching up on household stuff. Those of you lucky enough to still have your Moms, cherish every moment. Hope all you
Moms have a great day!

After tending to my own mother tomorrow, I fully intend to let my children tend to ME! Applause...... feeding me peeled grapes.....people at my beck and call..... Oh wait, that's just my FANTASY. I don't know what will really happen. I DO know that kid #1 and kid #2 were locked in kid #2's bedroom last night hatching a plot. If the weather is nice, it will probably involve a family bike ride and a restaurant for dinner. But I promise, I'll ACT surprised

I'll be doing the ususal, visiting my mom on Sunday. I go see the old darling every Sunday without fail, unless I am out of the city or country. My brothers and sister will eventually alll drift in one at a time with presents and sturff. I will be the first one there because mom makes me breakfast; it's the only breakfast I have all week. NOw, what do I buy her for mother's day? Dear mom lives alone and has her own house with everything she needs. Flowers are a waste as she has them all over the house already. She has more clothes han a 75 year old woman needs. So, I'll probably wind up buying her a bottle of wine!

My husband, my youngest daughter, myself and our white shepherd will head to NYC early. I will bike central park again, three times around (18 miles) to get ready for my tri in June. Daughter will take the dog to doggie park for free time with friends, husband will run race. Then its back to Jersey for delicious "all you can eat" Mexican brunch at little mom and pop restaurant. The hard I bike, the more I can eat! Happy Mothers Day to all!

The family and I will be spending the day at my in-laws (good relationship there, so it will be very nice!). My daughter already asked to go on a bike ride with "just us two" so we will probably ramble around the neighborhood for a bit in the morning. She was so excited about the mother's day card she made for me that she gave it to me today! I hope for at least some pampering tomorrow but we need to install window blinds for my mother-in-law. Those things always seem to take much longer than initially anticipated!!!
