p>Another joke, tell him that you feel so terrible about not sending care packages like the other moms that you want to make it up to him.  You are going to make a huge care package and bring it down to him personally.  During Spring Break!  You are coming by yourself and you want to know if you can stay with him for the week.  Ha!  Or at least say you are looking forward to spending the whole week with him and having him show you all around his school and town.

That's a great idea. I'm going to do it. And tell him that I bought a new red bikini and I'm looking forward to going to the beach with him and his roommates. HA!

Also, thanks for the other good ideas. I may have to spread it out over time.

as im cooking my bacon at 2 am, he neds what i am using a "GEORGE FORMAN GRILL"

My "care" package consisted of my mom taking a job to pay for undergrad school. I paid for graduate school.

whats so weird. as i reasearch grad school i wont have to worry about, its getting there that hurts.

my mom told me she wasnt gonna pay for sh$t. hard to tell the govt that, their formula takes that into account.... where are the democars when i need them. hell if they get my vote! i dont see hilary talking about her support for the students!

Hey, stop scaring BettyLou...her son does NOT drink, does NOT date, but by allmeans, does not have SEX!!! And he would love to have his mother visit for spring break.

THAT made me laugh! Thanks.

Yes. it's settled. I'll go stay with him at spring break and we'll bake cookies together. And to top it off, I'll flirt with his roommates. I'm sure he'll love that!

dont flirt to much or you will hear "dont tease unless your gonna please"

Phone card (if he doesn't have a cell), condoms, easy mac, cookies (buy the premade dough and cook'em up if you can't bake), magazine, shower flip flops (there is no telling what goes on in a college dorm shower), an old favorite DVD, pics of family pets (if applicable), clippings from the newspaper police blotter about kids he went to school with that got arrested.

Well thanks for all the suggestions. I encorporated quite a few into the box that I just packed. No condoms, though. And no cookies....
But I think I did okay. Bought some expensive toiletries like razor blades, shaving cream, as well as deoderant, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. (I had sent him home with this stuff at Christmas, but you can always use it, I suppose.) Then I threw in some fun stuff like junk food, and a nerf basketball kit and a goofy spin-the-bottle game that I found in the clearance aisle. Finally, I put in a a newspaper clipping with his friends in it.....and, of course...the check.

Thanks for the help.

With all the running Bettylou does for the Midwest team, she'll be so MILFy for spring break they won't even care if she's just teasing!

To be fair...if my mom sent me condoms, I'd be a bit freaked out. eeeeeeewww.

But today I found out that Royal Mail is off strike!! So my package will be here soon . I suspect it has a ton of Steelers stuff, but I'm hoping for other stuff too (PEANUT BUTTER!!!)

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I've got a few Florida-related suggestions:

Idea 1: The omnipresent, and generally high-quality, Florida supermarket chain is named Publix. They have gift cards.

Idea 2: It's almost spring training season, and for all of the parks that I know about you can order tickets online. Buy him four tickets to a Saturday day game at the nearest MLB spring training facility -- as long as he's not in Tampa at the Yankees' Legends Field, it won't be that expensive. He's not at USF or the U of Tampa, is he?

1. Knology Park - Blue Jays

2. Bright House Networks Field - Phillies

3. Progress Energy Park - Devil Rays

4. Legends Field - Yankees

5. McKechnie Field - Pirates

6. Ed Smith Stadium - Reds

7. Hammond Stadium - Twins

8. City of Palms Park - Red Sox

9. Joker Marchant Stadium - Tigers

10. Chain of Lakes Park - Indians

11. Osceola Stadium - Astros

12. Cracker Jack Stadium - Braves

13. Space Coast Stadium - Nationals

14. Dodgertown - Dodgers

15. Tradition Field - Mets

16. Roger Dean Stadium - Marlins/Cardinals

17. Ft Lauderdale Stadium - Orioles

tyrant - 2006-02-15 5:57 PM  Condoms? jk....

In Florida for spring break.  He'll need those.  If it's freak him out to get those from mom, go ahead and send them.  If nothing else, just to mess with his mind.

thats why i said JK. not that he would be freaked out, i ws worried about his mom. (my brother, elder, when he went to college a dem told my mom when she talked about a gift package suggested condoms. freaked my conservitive mom out a bit)
