Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5:30 and had a PowerBar and some gatorade. Relaxing and getting ready to head out about 6:30. Got to the race and walked around and tried to relax before the horn.
Event warmup:

No warm-up needed. Not a big fan. I always seem to pull a muscle if i stretch before hand.
Run
  • 1h 51m 30s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

Run felt really good. First mile was really slow, probably about 9:20ish. But i started to far in the back and got caught in a bottle neck of people. By about the midway point I was keeping pace with some guys who were pacing themselves at about 8:00-8:20min/mile
What would you do differently?:

I probably could have pushed a little harder and gone faster.
Post race
Warm down:

Got some gatorade and water, walked around for a bit to cool down and then stretched. I was still cold so walked to my car for a sweater.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just being the first time I have ever ran a half marathon.

Nice pace to hold thoughout the 13.1 miles.

... bet at that time of day there wasn't a light on nor a creature stirring on Fraternity Row - or that it was packed and they were already (still?) drinking beer.
