Subject: RE: Error in Beginner IM Plan?There is a slight decrease in overall hours, but as stated in the plan description "Here in Base 2, we’ll have theme weeks with increased volume in a single sport with steep reductions in the other two sports." Also, there's in increase from 1 hard workout per week to 2 hard workouts per week, both in the same sport. Increasing the overall hours on top of these changes would be inviting burnout or worse. There's no Build phase as it was omitted in favor of extending the Base periods. This is because a solid base is so important in Iron distance racing. This is not uncommon in Beginner IM training plans. |
