2006 Silver Comet 10K - Run

Run
Comments: Started off pretty well. I felt good and kept up a good pace but maybe a little too fast. From about mile 4, I started slowing down a little and started to fall back but I somehow managed to keep a decent pace. The last mile and a half was really tough. I was breathing very heavily and it was really challenging to push on with good pace. I used up the last bit of my energy finishing the last .3 mile to the end and boy, it was tough. What would you do differently?: Hydrate better before the run and not eat salty food the night before. Next time, I need to keep a good pace throughout the race as not to feel like collapsing at the end of the race. Post race
Warm down: Ate a half of bagel and had lots of water. Then off we went to Waffle House for a hearty breakfast (skipped the bacon though...) and 3 cups of coffee. Last updated: 2006-03-11 12:00 AM

Woke up around 5:45. Had some water, yogurt and Solo Bar. Drove together to the race site with two other friends and got there around 7:00. We picked up our race numbers and went to the bathroom in Kroger and waited around. The race started promptly at 8:00.
Just a little stretching.
