Pre-race routine:

up at 5, tried and true breakfast of cheerios with blueberries and coffee.

Read the paper and packed up my stuff while waiting for Max to pick me up at 6.
Event warmup:

Hooked up with May, DK, Rob, Lynn, the other Joanne, Kathy G and her family, Glen, and Amanda and hung out at the Dunkin Donuts. What a great bunch of folks!

Comments:

since IT band had been twinging the past couple of weeks, I started out conservatively. My goals was to run the race at at 10 minute pace. Max and Rob were running the Kathy, so May and I decided to run together...but I lost May at the first porta potty, so I ran the rest of the race by myself. I picked up the pace the last few miles. Mile 12 split was 9:12. I ended feeling strong.

Post race
Warm down:

Hung with the gang and was joined by Nicki, and watched kathy and rob run through the finish line. Meeting friends and enjoying each other's camraderie make this sport so much more fun. drank and ate a dry bagel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Event comments:

It was fun running on Memorial Drive and cheering on Glen, Max and May (I missed Kathy and Rob) as they ran in the opposite direction. Great race. I'll be back next year.

It was great to meet you!

You had an awesome race and you are not at 100%...wow watch out for you at tris this summer.

Look forward to seeing you more with the BT gang at the local tris. Which ones are you doing? I hope you are in for Cranberry...lots of BT women are doing it as our A race.

Congrats.....

oops I'm posting under Emily even though this is Kathy

Glad you enjoyed the race.  Too bad you didn't go to the IMAX show with us.  Sub 10 min/mile is good pace.  Great job!

Great race.  It was good to see you without the turkey feathers!  Funny how a whole bunch of us finished within just a few minutes of each other, that must be the "BT Race Pace."
