Subject: RE: Non Tri question, but Wedding/Shower ??? Yes, gift registration is done to make it easier on everyone, but that does not mean that you can't give them something not on the register, perhaps something more personal, especially if you are very close to the people (hand made baby quilts, art work, etc.). I admit that I dread baby showers as I don't know what to give, as I am not in the loop of the latest baby stuff. I often give the mother a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret - they will need to buy new unders after the baby is born! Not to go all Emily Post, but.... Can I just say that including the registration information IN or ON the invitation takes away from the spririt of the "invite"! While yes, the assumption is that people will bring gifts, you are inviting someone to a celebration of a life event, not illiciting loot!! These things are getting very blurred with the information highway life we lead (wedding websites, ect) but if formal invitations are issued, please keep to the spririt of sharing the happiness of the event the people involved. |
