Went in to the race intending to keep my HR between 140 and 150. Whatever pace that led to was going to be fine with me. I started the run with shanec and kept my HR in my goal range, I held Shane back a bit for the first 6 miles or so. Everything felt great, knees were holding up, lungs and heart were very strong and was holding about an 8:30 pace. At the 10 mile mark I turned it up a notch and brought it home in under 22 min for the final 5 k. Miles 1-2 - Avg HR 146 - Max HR 158 - Pace 8:30 Miles 3-4 - Avg HR 148 - Max HR 162 - Pace 8:34 Miles 5-6 - Avg HR 142 - Max HR 151 - Pace 8:44 Miles 7-8 - Avg HR 147 - Max HR 163 - Pace 8:22 Miles 9-10 - Avg HR 147 - Max HR 161 - Pace 8:32 Miles 11-13- Avg HR 168 - Max HR 174 - Pace 7:20
Course: The course was very nice with rolling hills, nothing steep at all. Mileage was marked every mile with water stations every 3 miles or so.

Nice Run. Should be proud of that. What a day you had effort wise as well as the weather.
Way to go. Maybe I'll get to meet you at Finger Lakes or Cayuga.

Nice. You're going to have one seriously strong tri season.

All I ask is that at any race we both do, you try to save me some food for when I eventually finish.
