Warm down: Easy spin for a couple of miles, then a recovery drink on the way home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Wind and rain, mental preparation. Event comments: These Georgia Cup races are a lot of fun to do. Something different just for laughs. Last updated: 2006-04-09 12:00 AM

Drove to the race start from my Mother's house where I had stayed the night before. During the night a terrible storm system had ripped through the northern part of Atlanta. It was raining and lightning when I drove up to the parking area.
Monsooning when I drove up, I wouldn't have been surprised to see Noah float by with the animals 2 by 2 it was raining so hard. I saw people out warming up on their trainers and riding up and down the parking lot. I arrived at 7:50 for a 8:13 start time and actually figured that with the weather they would either postpone or cancel the race. Much to my surprise everything was on as planned. I changed into my cycling clothes and rode down to the start line (about 1 mile away) at a mad pace in order to make my start time. Made it with about 2 minutes to spare.
