Pre-race routine:

Ate lunch with my Mom between the TT and the start of this race.
Event warmup:

Rode for about 30 minutes on the course to get a feel for the corners. Mostly easy with a few laps at "race pace" to get the cornering down.

Comments:

Well at least I didn't get dropped although I did get lapped (so did the rest of the field by two guys on a breakaway). It was a fun race. There was a wicked headwind on the backside that hit you like a brick wall when you rounded the curve. It played a role as that was where the peleton split for the first time. I am just happy that I held on for deal life until the end.
What would you do differently?:

More high intensity training, more time at or above LT. This was a fun race for me and was basically a hard track type workout on the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

Coasted and soft pedaled a couple of laps after the race was over.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough LT work, not training for this type of race, no teammates.

Event comments:

Highly recommend doing one of these races.

If you have ever done a crit then you know the first few laps are crazy stupid fast. I think we were doing 28-29 on the first two laps.

Riding that race without a few compadres was right down studley. The speed is fantastic and what better way to prepare for some 1st place bike splits. Man I would love to try that, heck I'd like to just train for it. Congratulations, that was a great effort.
