So I've been wondering this for a while now. Why don't they put the brake handles for tri bikes on the aerobars?

I got so used to my road bike, almost always having a finger or two on the brakes, that now with my tri bike it seems weird. If you need to stop in a hurry, how can you? Transitioning from aerobars to brake handles has got to cost a solid second, which is a lot of time at 17-20mph or more.

Happy monday!
Tom

There are conversion kits out there to do that:

The real answer to your question, though, is

TRIATHLETES DON'T NEED NO STINKING BRAKES!!!

Dave Zabriski (sp) is running a cyclocross lever on his TT bike. QBP makes a cable splitter that is similar to the Hed device (but cheaper). I am seriously thinking about setting up a 3rd lever on my tri-bike and I have been looking at options.
