Total Time = 1h 20m 45s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = M 30-34
Age Group Rank = 2/
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30 and drove over to Lake Lanier Islands. Met the other members of the North Atlanta Multisport Club in the parking lot.
Event warmup:

Walked back and forth to the car three times....does that count?
Run
  • 19m 30s
  • 3 miles
  • 06m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

Went out pretty hard, probably couldn't have gone much harder.
What would you do differently?:

Grown another lung with which to breathe through.
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

T1 is T1....just do it!
Bike
  • 46m
  • 16 miles
  • 20.87 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a challenging course, very hilly, however there were some screaming downhills also.
What would you do differently?:

Well the third lung from the run would help, ride more? I felt pretty good about this ride though.
Transition 2
  • 00m 30s
Comments:

T2....whatever
Run
  • 13m 14s
  • 2 miles
  • 06m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt rubber legs for the first half mile or so then settled into a good pace. The women's overall winner passed me with about a half mile to go and I gave her a hard time as my wave started 4 minutes ahead of her. She was cool though and I stayed with her till the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Again that third lung would have come in handy......
Post race
Warm down:

Walked out of the finishing chute and straight to the food. I was H-U-N-G-R-Y!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Genetics, seriously! I think I went about as hard as I am capable today. Was pleasently surprised (shocked!) to get 2nd in my AG. I have never won hardware before and its not like I haven't done this for awhile!
Thanks to all of the NAMSC members who competed and came out to support our athletes.

Event comments:

Highly recommend!
