Monday was 35 minutes on the trainer @ 174 average watts and 109 average heart rate

Tuesday was 40 minutes on the trainer @ 183 average watts and 112 average heart rate. I also swam 2700 yards in an hour doing lot of drills and slower paced stuff to loosen the legs up. I did do some faster intervals that were pull with paddles. I did 5X100 @1:45 and 1X500 @8:15.

Today one hour on the trainer @201 average watts and 116 average heart rate. I did some intervals but not as hard as normal with a max wattage of 407.

I feel about 85% recovered from the race on Sunday. Swim tomorrow with a short run then another lower intensity trainer session on Frioday should set me up well for a long ride on Saturday followed by a long run on Sunday.

Think I'm gonna have to excuse myself and bow out of the group.  Between work, coaching little league and training, I barely have enough time to get on the computer and log my workouts - not much time to keep up with this thread.

Steve, thanks for mentoring... appreciate you taking the time to run this thread.

Good luck to everyone, have a great season!!!

Weird week running the half marathon on Sunday and then pretty much all fluff during the week and finishing it off with a really great three hour trainer ride today. The giant oreo double stuff week.

weather has been so nice that I've been able ride my bike to work and back. Gives me a little over 9 miles round trip. Last night after swimming I started coming down with some kind of bug, feel terrible. hope I'm better by next weekend, I have an indoor triathlon scheduled. Even though it's not a race per se I was hoping to hit it hard to get an idea where my fitness level is at.

I twisted my ankle last week and haven't ridden or run since.  However, it was an excellent opportunity to start swimming again Smile.  Training volume is simply difficult to maintain when just swimming.  Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do when laid up with an ankle injury?  I have symptoms of a high ankle sprain, so this may take a while to heal completely.

Aqua jogging is one option. The ankle is bad enough you can't bike? I would say elliptical but if you can't bike.

Sorry about your ankle Michael!  I've haven't done that (yet) so can't offer any help there.

Lymna - HIM!?!?!  That's awesome!  Which one?

Today I created my own little reverse duathlon.  Rode my bike to Bridgewater, NJ  (17 miles , 1 hr)... Raced the “Run from Winter 10k”.  Very flat and scenic course.  Weather was in the mid 40's, little chilly but perfect for running. Finished in 50:56 with an avg pace of 8:15 and a negative split.  Was pretty happy with that time.  Rode the same route home a few minutes faster than getting out there.  All in all a good day.  Now if someone would just run me a bath I could call it a triathlon Smile

Steve,

I signed up for the Rev3 in Cedar Point. I might have to give riding my bike to the next road race a try, got to be a good warmup (something I'm not particularly good at).

September is a long time to build up your volume. You'll be good to go.

Great job on the 10k.

Here are my weekly totals:

S:  5400/2:05

B: 91/6:22

R: 7/1:15

Had to day an extra day off as I did something to my back that kept me from working out on Friday.  Luckily that day of rest helped as I was able to workout on Saturday.

Steve,

I signed up for the Rev3 in Cedar Point. I might have to give riding my bike to the next road race a try, got to be a good warmup (something I'm not particularly good at).

It was the first time I ever warmed up for an event and I must say it helped a lot. I just wish 45 minutes didn't go by from the time I got there to the time the race started but I timed it wrong, thought it was 25 miles away ended up only being 17.

Hey everyone...

Been traveling for my grandfathers funeral for the last week so I've had minimal days to train and my diet has been horrible. I'll get back on the horse and have a better week to close out the month.

I had a goad of 100 miles running and 200 miles biking and it amazes me that no matter what you plan there can always be a wrench thrown into it. Even though I havent done much I chose to take it as a recovery week and finish my next 4 weeks strong for the Ragnar. Ended up working out fine.

I hope everyone has been kicking butt and taking names!
