Comments: Started out too fast, then settled into nice pace. Last .25 mile was excellent. This is the first race that I have worn a HR monitor and not sure how to interpret the results. The last 1.25 miles I could not have worked much harder from an aerobic standpoint. What would you do differently?: Start out slower and leave some gas for the finish. Really struggled in mile 3. Post race
Warm down: Walked 10 minutes. Day after, walked at the Y on TM and then did extensive stretching and foam roller. Feet, achilles, ankles, knees and hips feel just fine. Calves sore but improving 2 days out. What limited your ability to perform faster: Still adapting to minimalist running. Recovering from a cold, so some congestion interfered with breathing. Event comments: Nice race, well managed and on time. Good day! Last updated: 2012-02-19 12:00 AM

Slept in - grateful for the late start. Had coffee and a banana. Visited with BT friends, old and new. Was remembering when Kathy did the race a few years ago and wishing she could be running today. Back in those days I was not physically active at all and didn't see myself ever doing anything like this.
Dynamic stretching and then ran about 1/2 mile with some strides. The good news was that I ran down by the finish line so I had a sense of how long the last sprint was going to be after turning the corner on Neponset.
