A car came to a "rolling stop" at the 4 way stop this morning and lifted me onto its hood and carried me to the center line.  Thankfully I was not injured, although, I don't know how.  He was apologetic.  I said that I wasn't hurt and kept on running.  I am very thankful!

Holy Carp!! I'm glad you were able to keep going, but are you sure you'er not injured? You may want to get checked out just to be sure. A few times I thought I was just bruised, but I actually had slightly more serious injuries that needed to be treated.

Isn't that still legally considered a hit and run?  You could have some damage to either yourself (or your bike if youwere riding) that aren't noticeable right away.

Glad you could at least walk away from the scene.

Dam! Never think that the vehicle sees you. Always be on the defensive. So happy you're alright. Keep your head on a swivel.

It happened on mile 2 of a 20 miler.  I was freaked out and just glad that my bones and joints were intact.  I really didn't think about anything else.  I think it gave me a rush of adrenaline and was able to finish the run much easier than expected.   I am just thankful that my brains, bones and joints are in no worse shape than before.

Too bad you didn't think to have some fun with it...

Fall off the car, play dead and wait until the driver comes out, bends over and pokes you....hop up and sprint off!  Woohoo!

Hope you got the license number though, just in case.

This is exactly why I wear polarized glasses. It allows me to see through most windshields and have "eye contact" with the driver.   If they're not looking at me, I try to steer clear.

So glad you are OK.  I had this happen to a friend of mine and he had pretty much the same reaction as you.  "No harm, no foul."

Damn dude that's scary.  You might want to go and get checked out to be safe.  I mean you did get hit by a car.

If anything it makes you a little bit more gangsta.

Glad you are OK- having been through this I would recommend getting the drivers's information, informing law enforcement, and getting checked out. You are right, adreneline can be a funny thing...my initial reaction to my accident was "I'm ok"- turns out I wasn't. on the same subject, I posted this awhile back.

BTers, I was involved in an accident just over a year ago. I slammed into the side of a moving SUV that blew a stop sign. the event, ended with surgery on my right shoulder and rehab, coulda been a LOT worse. Just now really getting back to some easy training. What I did learn from this experience is that my auto insurance covered me..(as a pedestrian or a cyclist). I am sure policies vary. Had my brother in law not been in the insurance business, I would have not even inquired and just used my regular healthcare insurance to cover my related costs. My auto insurance (I am in a no fault state) covered the damaged bike, my lost wages, time out of work, etc., medical bills which were quite substantial.  I hope none of you have to go through this, but it is worth a call to your local agent to know what type of coverage you have.

Now I always use flashers front and back!
