Had a great time at my first tri at UBC today.  Definitely have some work to do on my swim, as I ended up breast stroking a lot of it--I am just not totally comfortable with my breathing yet.  Bike and run both felt great.  And the best part--it didn't rain!  The sun even peeked through a couple times.

Hope to hear about Twink's race, as she also posted it was her first!

I can call myself a triathlete now, right? Laughing

Congratulations Triathlete! Laughing

I had a great time at UBC as well and was also happy that the wind & rain held back for the day. Definitely have the tri bug now - woot! Next one will be the Apple in Kelowna and I think I will end the season with the Vancouver Tri in September.

Congrats to both of you.  I have Apple, Kelowna on my list as a possible but I'm not sure the timing works out for me yet so I might hold off for the Kelowna Xterra instead.

Will either of you write up a race report?  Tell us all about your expereince.

Twink - have you looked at the Stanley Park tri (Sprint or Oly) - I think it is Sept 3rd.

Thanks, congrats to you too! I just signed up for my next sprint Surprised

I did indeed write a race report, George: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... felt almost as good as the race!  I have a lot of work to do when it comes to the swim, but it will be nice to be able to look back on this report and realize how far I have come!

Thanks to both

Yes, its the Stanley Park Tri that I was looking at but right now I am thinking of doing the Try a tri as I have lots of training to do before I work on the 'regular' sprint length. I'm just happy that I found something active that I love to do Cool
