Got a Hero 2.  I also got a bunch of mounting accessories.  I have a bike mount, head mount, helmet mount, chest mount and a bunch of flat and curved surface mounts.  I plan on going crazy with this thing.

Dlyon - 2012-03-22 8:13 AM what mount did you use and where did you mount? beautiful backdrop.  beats my basement on long island, which is the only safe place to ride around hereCry

It's the bike mount.  My bike is a TT bike so there are not many "round" tubes to attach to.  I put it on the stem hanging underneith and slightly to the side of center.  I think it worked out well.  Next I am trying out the helmet mount and the chest mount....

Nice video! What gorgeous scenery.

I'm actually glad it was a bike mount. I tend to get kinda sick watching hand held (or helmet mount/chest mount in this case) camerawork. It was really nice to get the perspective from a steady bike. Helmet cam is nice though, when you want to point something out to the viewer by looking straight at it...

You should try a low profile mount, like near the wheel...I've seen motorcycle videos shot like that and it's awesome when you're on a windy, twisty route. Ooooooh I can just imagine what fun it'd be to be riding in a big group and shooting from a low angle.

HOLY S**T ON TOAST!! WHERE THE HELL DO U LIVE THAT U CAN RIDE THAT FAR WITH SO FEW CARS!!???? Where I'm from I can't walk 30 yards anywhere with a gazillion cars (most of them old blind angry snowbirds) that are determined to hit and kill you every chance they get. GODDAMMIT I hate my city!!!!!

But that was a pretty awesome clip

Just pay the toll and go ride the bike trails on Sanibel Island. At least, that's what my wife and I did when we rented bikes while we were down there in November

To the OP--cool video! But, next time could you try riding a little faster?

Thoroughly impressed. This is the kind of video that I like to watch when I am on the trainer! I'd love to have a string of like 10 videos just like this for different parts of the country and scenery to view as I'm riding inside. I hope you don't mind but this will be the first in the string... you know with the tri-bars in view, the shadow, the scenery etc. it all just contributes well to the monotony of my living room walls. Thanks again for posting. I hope more people take your lead on this.

It doesn't really show up in the video, but that whole ride is up hill!  It's around a 1000' climb.

I don't think vegas has as stretch of road longer than 500 ft that is not climbing or decending.

Nice! Think I know where you mean too. It just keeps going up there. Was out there a few years ago to visit my brother. Didn't have the bike with. Looks like a great area to ride! Did end up hiking into Red Rock Canyon (and a few other places).

BrianRunsPhilly - 2012-03-22 9:01 AM Great first video, with the sun at your back the shadow of you on the bars is awesome. But aren't you supposed to yell 'on your left' when passing?

Nah, I just put 'em in the "crosshairs" and start yelling 'PEW-PEW-PEW"  Tongue out

MCA - 2012-03-22 8:58 AM What part of Vegas is that?  I just ran the Red Rock Canyon 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago and this video reminded me of that run.  That's in Summerlin, right?

Yep that's Charleston riding out towards Red Rock.  I sometimes forget and take for granted how gorgeous and exotic my scenery is and I didn't even ride the loop for this vid.  That route is REALLY gorgeous.

My wife and I rode the Red Rock loop on Tuesday, I was watching the video thinking it looked really familiar!  I'd love to have the option to ride roads and routes like that all the time!

Great video What video editing software did you use? Also you should check out the k edge mount for the GoPro. It is aluminum and less likely to break than the GoPro bike mount.

I have power director 10. It works pretty well. Also I occasionally use iMovie on my Mac because it's so easy to use.
