Memphis in May Triathlon : Official Thread

I'm in!  No rain, no rain, no rain!  We don't need another flood!

I will be there doing the Olympic on Sunday.

Andrew, which race(s) are you doing?

Anyone seen any water temp data recently for the race site?

From the race website (just posted today):

"5/14/2012 5pm Unofficial Water Temp is 80.5 degrees, come prepared with your wet suit just in case"

Forecast looks good and a little on the warm side.  Highs around 90 degrees.

My guess is they will do everything they can to make the race wetsuit legal, but I'm thinking with the hot days this week it will be hard to find a spot in the 5 ft deep lake to find a temp that would allow it. We'll see.

Regardless, it is race week! Can't wait to get down there and start the season.  Good luck everyone.

Hmmm.  Well, at least my avatar picture really is me.  I don't know if you can make out the face well enough to recognize me from it though.

You can walk around yelling "BT!, BT!, BT!" all weekend long.  When I hear you I'll come say hi. 

Chris, I have an idea.  The night before we can get all triathletes to raid the hotel ice machines and bring ALL the ice to the lake and throw it in.

Not this year for me Greg.  I am going to be a Sherpa for my wife on Saturday and then I'll race Sunday.  What did you decide to do?

It was a great weekend.  Probably the biggest event I've been to so I really enjoyed the size and spectacle of it.  Seeing the hotel lobby overtaken by bicycles and spandex was pretty fun.
