I rode the PIT course today and I have to say that is one tough course!

There are some fast sections, and the roads are mostly smooth, but the hills sure start to eat you up after the first half. I also have to voice my displeasure at how rough, rough, rough Firefox Rd and Darby Rd were. I really hope there is a plan to repave those roads. I was so jarred up after that section of the route that my shoulders felt like I had just done military presses!

The final 5 miles is also pretty darn tough. The hills just seem to be long and gradual and you really have to work at it.

I also ran part of the run route after the ride. The hills just sap your already tired legs.

That's going to be a fun, tough race.

It is a tough course.  But it is also a FUN course.  Now you know why it is called "PineHURTS"!!!!!!

If you ever want a buddy to ride with, I'm always willing to ride that course.  For some reason, I just can't get enough of it.........

I'm planning on riding the course on either Saturday or Sunday. I'll be following that up with an easy run along the run course. Let me know if anyone is interested

Dood,

Have you decided on Sat or Sun?  Sunday is out for me, but I could possibly do Sat morning if the timing is right.

If anyone wants to ride this route tomorrow, May 4th, maybe around 10 or 11, let me know. I'm off work and plan on hitting the route. If I can find enough time, I plan on riding and running both courses.

So, do you ppl think Pinehurst is too close to B2B to race hard, or is two weeks plenty of time to recover? Doing the half.

Dood,

Sorry I missed you today.  I swam at the fitness center and then rode out to the course and did one loop.  I talked to Jeff Kern at the marina as he was loading up his bike.

Good Luck next Saturday!

What's the water temp at the lake right now?  Hubby and I may drive down there Friday night and sign up last minute for the race. However, we both prefer it to be wetsuit legal (poor swimmers).

What? did they throw ice in there so it would be wettie legal?

Haha, maybe I had something to do with that!

The temp was around 76 today when I got my race packet. it should drop a degree, or two, by race time.

I'm #190. Game on.
