Overall Rank = 121/155
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 3/6
Pre-race routine:

got up and was totally nervous considering it was my first triathlon, but had my normal breakfast a banana and water. meet up with steve (thegommer),colleen, kurt, joanna and drove to the race. we just hung around for alittle bit and i got my transition area set up. got body marked and i had "first tri" written on me.
had alot of people show up from our team triumph club, which was great!!
Event warmup:

i did some stretching not alot. again still nervous...went over my transition area.
Swim
  • 25m 4s
  • 880 yards
  • 02m 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

i enjoyed the swim after i got out of a pack of swimmers felt like i had no were to go. and there was alot of elbows and legs hitting into me, which i expected but i wasn't as prepared as i should of been
What would you do differently?:

i would probably go alittle harder with my swim in the beginning, because once i got going it felt great. i felt intimated by all the people around me when i first got out there, but next i won't
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

for my 1st transition i never practiced so i was going by what i was told and did the best i can do, had a hard time getting my wetsuit off. but i realized if i just step on it to get it off, well it works
What would you do differently?:

need more practice with my transition
Bike
  • 1h 22m 20s
  • 24 miles
  • 17.49 mile/hr
Comments:

i loved the bike part of this race, i felt great, lost my water bottle during my ride, but i still had my other one
What would you do differently?:

i would practice on getting on my bike after my swim...as i was getting on my bike i kept on slipping on my pedal, i couldn't get in clipped in
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

this transition was okay, legs were kind of wobbely
What would you do differently?:

i was okay with this transition
Run
  • 37m 56s
  • 4 miles
  • 09m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

the run for me was tough, felt very hot and thirsty, alittle fatigued, at a few of the water stations they had no cups or no water. even though i wanted under a 10 minute mile it felt like i was fighting through this part of the race. not enjoyable at all
What would you do differently?:

i would incorporate more brick workouts
Post race
Warm down:

just drank water and ate a pretzel

What limited your ability to perform faster:

what limited me to perform faster i would say that i didn't know what to expect or just made some little mistakes along the way

Event comments:

i know there will be other races for me and they will be much more organized, and i didn't like the fact that there was no chip time. but for being my first triathlon i will take this as an experience and remember and work off of it to get better...
on a positive note, when i crossed the finish line as a TRIATHLETE...i kind of took a few seconds off to the side and just thought about what i did and what i accomplished. and my twin was there and my friends which ment so much to me. also found out that i placed 3rd in my age goup!!! and i had my BT tatoos on, and as for my all my workouts with my workout partner...THANK YOU!!

Great job.  Next time, you can't write first tri on your back   When you passed me on the bike (like around mile 10), you seemed really strong.  Good luck at Hammonton!
