Comments: Goal pace was for a 1:43 finish. A little too aggressive. Plan to run 8:07 miles 1 - 3, then 7:47 rest. Managed this only up to mile 9, then wheels came off. Legs felt heavy and stomach was queezy. At this point I was just trying to go as fast as possible without walking. I was really fighting the desire to stop. Talk about suffering... What would you do differently?: I'm still in the OS so my run volume hasn't been high. I should have taken that into consideration when determinging a goal pace. Weekly mileage was only around 11 to 15 miles weekly so my long runs were not very long. I only got one 13 miler 2 weeks before the race. Next OS, I need to take this into account. Also, I was sick last week so laid off workouts for 5 days and so I wasn't really 100%. Felt ok, but still coughing up some mucous while running and nose was leaking lots of stuff too. Stick with Gatorade... gels just didn't work out too well. Made stomach queezy. Post race

Slept at bro's house. Went to sleep at 10pm, woke up at 5am. Had 3 bananas and 2 hard boiled eggs. Lots of water. Stopped eating/drinking by 5:45.
Didn't warm up too much. Took a very short jog about an hour before start, then met up with Dawn and friend. Hit the potty around 30 min before start and then lined up at the start line. No other opportunity to really warm up.
