Run
Comments: Had I followed my instincts and stuck to the trail, I would have found the first checkpoint sooner. This was the trail I regularly train on, so I am used to it. All in all, I am really happy, I ran the majority of this course--I might have walked for a total of two minutes... What would you do differently?: Follow my gut--not other racers. Post race
Warm down: Walked a bit, snacked a bit. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing--I only lost time due to the less than stellar orienteering. I was ecstatic about my obstacle course performance. Event comments: I really enjoyed this race--there are so few people that it becomes a relaxed fun race rather than one you get all worked up and nervous about. People were having a great time--I even made some new friends! I would love to do the adventure race, but I don't have a kayak--they beach run, kayak, mountain bike, then do the run and obstacle course... I still had a blast even with my trail loss--I can't wait to do it again next year! Last updated: 2012-04-29 12:00 AM

Walked around the race area and watched the adventure race people get their gear prepared. Drank water.
Nothing really, I just sort of stretched out.
