Pre-race routine:

Stayed 45 min from event at cheesy hotel but fine. Had 1/2 a club sub with Jalapeno for dinner and the other half at o-dark thirty for breakfast. Picked up packet and set up bike and transition.
Event warmup:

started at 0715 to let the fog lift...good call

Felt fine before, not a worry. Felt fine going in. about 1 minute in seemed like wetsuit constricting. Sun in my eyes on breath. Felt on edge. Stopped 4 times for a few seconds. Took nearly half the swim to start calming down.

Will work on swim over summer. This swim was 6 min longer than my Savage Man swim in 2010.

Got L ham cramp jogging up to transition. Cost me 1 minute. Had to pee once I got to the bike but didn't want to lose anymore time so I let it go in my bibs and into the freshly laundered socks I just put on...very freeing
What would you do differently?:

not worry about putting on clean socks

The bike is my favorite part. Doing especially poorly in the swim and being the 5th of 7 waves I got pass a lot of folks maybe 50 and the best part check out there gear...think the Titanium Litespeed was favorite... I had 5 that sustained a pass.
What would you do differently?:

drink more. I killed about 55 ounces but could have done better. Drink earlier maybe...

transition was fine...I could make it faster but don't want to push at the wrong time and cause injury or accident especially in a 70.3 or longer event
What would you do differently?:

buy TRI bike shoes so I can do the wax on wax off thing

full on R ham cramp .. disabled me for 3+ minutes on first 1/2 mile of course on hill. After 3+ minutes I was able to peg leg it for 1 minute and then started to jog and then when it flattened out at mile 1 I got to my race pace for the rest of the 12 miles...guessing a 9:25 mpm
What would you do differently?:

maybe go a hair easier on the bike, maybe stretch it out in transition...I did mild stretching on the bike the last mile...

Event comments:

This race would be better if;
*the few potholes on course were spay painted with dots leading up and a circle around
*the food and the vendor serving were better and polite
*one of 4 water stations on run weren't handing out brown tinged water

Really, this is my second SetUp event and they are really good. All above are minor and I will be doing more Set Up events Lord and body willing. They do a nice job.
