Comments: The down side about swimming in the lakes in NC is they are so murcky you can't see any feet to draft from until you are close enough to get kicked! Oh well. I haven't swam since the Trianlge Ortho Sprint 2 weeks ago but I'm very pleased with this performance. My sighting was dead on, I actually had to swim around the buoys or I would have hit them. The water was extremely calm and a perfect temperature. My wetsuit fit was a little wonky but overall I did well. I'm not positive but I think I took 2 minutes off my best time.  Post race
Warm down: Hung out with Linda and Doug and cheered them on for their awards. FS gives out cool stuff. Another perk for the FS Series. Glad to hear they've added more swim races. I'll be sure to be there. Last updated: 2012-05-14 12:00 AM

Nice to not have the race start at the crack of dawn. Woke up sans alarms, had breakfast and got my ride from Linda. Had a lovely chat on the way there.
We had to swim to the swim start so I got a nice little warm up. I'm not usually a big one on swim warm ups but I think this was a good thing. Certainly helped with the shock of the water down the suit.
