Comments: Good run. I was pleased. I started with a friend who was slower so that helped conserve for the second half, though I feel I could've gone a little faster on the front end. What would you do differently?: Start a bit faster and try not to conserve so much. And try to get a better starting position. I was in the middle of the pack and it was hard to get around people at the beginning of the race. Post race
Warm down: Walked and drank small cups of water. What limited your ability to perform faster: My lack of heart. I need to just bear down and go instead of worrying so much about overheating, vomiting and getting worn down. Event comments: Great organization but they wouldn't let anybody touch the water or fruit until after the race. Those of us who showed up expecting a simple bottle or cup of water were pretty disappointed in that. Otherwise it was a nice course with short hills. Last updated: 2006-05-30 12:00 AM

Woke up and drove to the race. Great routine I know. I need to find something cool like harnessing my chi or drinking some chai.
Stretched like crazy to ensure no cramping and drank a bottle of water about 30 minutes before race time -- just enough time to let it run through my system. Oh and I had a banana shortly before the race. I jogged slowly from the parking lot to the race area, which was about a mile.
