Subject: IM 70. 3 For 2013

So im looking to do two IM 70.3 in 2013, (WTC only).  I am  98.5% sure Im doing Poconos 70.3 and now looking for another, doesn't really matter where as long as its in the US.  SOme things to consider is I don't like the heat so lets try and stay away from that for the most part.  So which IM 70.3 have you done and would recommend?

Then you need to stay away from FL70.3.  It's almost always brutal.

Maybe Augusta?  It is later in the year and tends to be a little cooler.

Why only WTC?  Nothing wrong with them but there are other great races out there to chose from (Rev3 series for example)

Augusta and Poconos are the same weekend so that's not gonna work.

Boise?  Oceanside?

Does it have to be in the US or North America?  Would you consider MT or Calgary or Muskoko?

Good point on Rev 3 series, forgot about them nay good ones?  and yes I would consider Calgary, whats the course like?I hear its pretty tough.  I was thinkg Boise too just mostly becasue I have never been out there before.  I really want to do florida but the heat is just not for me, I think I would just fizzle...haha. I did a sprint in 2008 and had a DNF it was crazy hot and I wasnt feeling to good before race, though I also had two flats and called it a day......but have you done FL 70.3 what the course and weather like.....maybe I should redeem myself with that bad boy...hmmmmm

"Heat" is a relative term. What's the highest temps you're willing to race in? I understand you don't want to race in Texas in July, but what about Rhode Island in June? It could easily get into the mid '80's and, if you get unlucky, 90's isn't out of the question. But most tris are in the summer, and unless you restrict yourself to Northern states and don't race between June and September, you've got a decent chance of 80-degree temps or better wherever you go.

I'd recommend either Timberman or IM70.3 Rhode Island. I’m racing IM70.3 Syracuse this weekend, and it probably will be 70’s or low 80’s during the early part of the race.

Yes when I mean heat I mean Florida/texas hot. I would rather stay under 90 than over

Even temperature is relative when you don't factor in humidity.  90 with 40-50% RH is downright pleasant compared to 90 with 90%RH (which you'll find in FL for 5-6 months of the year)
