Same here. I'm using it as a raining run for TCM. Hopefully I do not wake up with the urge to start a death march in the heat/humidity.

Who has two thumbs and it totally freaked out by the race on Wednesday (mostly due to weather).  THIS GIRL!

I put a question on the TCM Facebook page to ask about when they decide regarding black flagging it.

Granted the heat was a concern I needed his half for my upcoming 70.3.

Hard to swallow paying $65 for a race shorter then my normal training days.

See you there.

I totally understand for those of you doing your first half or feeling like you needed a confidence race. And I agree - spendy for a 5 mile.  However, I have done very tough hot races before and they are NOTHING like what a good race can be.  Wednesday was going to be a dangerous slogfest. It's not worth our health and safety.

Tom - you can still run 13 miles.  You didn't need to prove it on Wednesday.  A half marathon at a half iron is nothing like a standalone race. I know you can do it.   You will be SO EXCITED to be off that bike, you will think the half marathon is a gift.  I actually still think a standalone half marathon is "harder" than a HIM run.   Maybe it's been quicker, but it feels harder.   That run in the Dells will be what it will be, regardless of what happened on Wednesday.

Happy Fourth of July!

Went out with a group at 5AM to do 8.1 miles, which ended up getting off track and doing 10 miles. Arrived at the starting line drenched at the end of the national anthem. The 5 miler went well for being the later part of the run. My 1/2 time would of been 1:55ish. Not sure what that translates if it wasn't so warm. Earned the medal, got my first 15 mile day in, but more importantly had a blast!!!

I enjoyed the event.   I didn't need/want to run more than 5 that day, so I was good   I did decline the medal at the end, I am not too excited about medals either way and this one just seemed silly.

I have never been so wet after a race!   I took a cup-o-water shower at every water stop and also ran through the sprinklers during mile two.     My car is smelling a bit musty this morning from getting the seat wet...

I did make a silly mistake of not wearing socks and was working on a nasty rubbed spot by mile 1.   This might be my first bloody shoe - yay.  Fortunately I saw my husband at mile 3 and he gave me his sock.  Yeah, gross, I know, but it totally transformed my race.  Then I just blew through the last two miles.

If it had been sunny, it would have been really bad for me.  But the overcast skies kept me going.  I didn't mind the much flatter course, either!   The hills on the half marathon course are brutal.
