I'm suprised there is no thread for this. I'm signed up for the half. I just did IMLP and am considering switching to the full pending on how my body acts over the next 3 weeks.  Anyone else out there doing this race or have you done it before? I was curious about the swim. Will there be big waves???

Congrats on IMLP!  Cedar Point is one of the few races in the country with a backup plan for the swim.  If the water is too rough, the course will switch to a tt start on the bay side of Cedar Point.  Don't be worried about the swim.

Check out the course preview day hosted by Cleveland Tri Club at www.clevetriclub.com

I too am contemplating switching from the half to the full, but the swim is always tough for me.  just how cold is that water for a northern girl stuck in the very south?

tt start is for the swim.  They'll ask you for your 100 average and put you in a wave based on that.

The water is WARM right now.  Really, really warm.  You could get by without a wetsuit, even in early September, but you'll want to wear one, I'm sure.  No worries there!

I think it's in the low 70s. I have been in the water and feel fine with out a wetsuit and I'm a freeze baby!

I'm getting ramped up as well. Still not sure if I'm going to convert to the full or not. Time will tell I guess. Either way I think it will be a great race!

Iam doing the half.  This will be my second 70.3 ever and my first one is 2 weeks before Cedar Point.  The first one is the Great Buckeye Challenge in Springfield Oh. and I elected to do it for 2 reasons: 1. It's a $100 for a HIM distance race. (How can you beat that?) 2. I'll take it easy that day and get my fueling strategy dialed down to where I would like it for Cedar Point.

Check with Bike Authority.  I think Sherman might have wheels for rent.  I am not positive about it but I think he might.

Anyone concerned that race day might be cold?  It's been chilly this week.  I thrive in the 90+ heat and wither like a little baby in the cold, so I'm hoping for a heat wave!!!!!

I did the course preview today and it was really great! Swim was ROUGH though. I didn't like it at all...huge waves which I'm not used to since I normally swim in rivers and small lakes. Hopefully it will be calmer on race day. Also we swam in a different location than the race swim so maybe that will make a difference.

Bike course is great...pretty flat compared to what I am used to. Some rolling hills and some wind. Didn't have to get out of my big ring at all though except for one climb.

Big THANK YOU!!! to the cleveland triathlon club for putting it on. It was great!

I was there yesterday, too.  Agree - the bike course is nice.  The one section with wind bothered me a bit (and my quads) but other than that I was extremely pleased.  Can't wait to see what's in store for me on race day.

CRAZY person Alert!  No heat waves allowed!!!  I am loving the temps recently.  I even ran a very easy 7 mile run yesterday morning at a pace I haven't run for an easy run ever.  I'll take the cool temps!!

I just booked our campsite at Cedar Point tonight and now I am getting very stoked for the race.  I just have one race this coming weekend before I am ready to go for Rev3, it's the Great Buckeye Challenge 70.3 this Sunday.

Haha!  I know.  If I ever decide to do a full IM, then I think I'll do Louisville for the heat (no, not joking).  It doesn't affect me much.  90% of the races I competed in this summer were in 90+ degrees, and when people were lying on the side of the road or walking because of the heat, I just kept on doing my thing

Good luck at the Great Buckeye Challenge!  Never done it but curious to hear about it.

For anyone that wants to, I suggested possibly meeting for a pre-race day beer (or other drink of your liking) on the Saturday evening before the race. I posted this on the IM and sprint threads as well for any BTers who are going to be around.

If you're up for it, just keep an eye on the threads....just wanted to get things rolling.

Hope everyone's training is going well.

Any one know about the "Fun Day Friday" early tickets into the park? I'd called Cedar Point and the lady I spoke with was unaware of it. The Rev3 web page shows the park will open from 4-6 for a ticket price of $19.99. It also shows the date as Friday, Sept 9th which isn't right so I'm wondering if this deal is from a year past and Cedar Point isn't offering it this year and Rev3 didn't take if off their webpage?

Hey it's the smilingest triathlete ever!

When we made reservations to the campground they gave us a package deal that included the Friday evening and Saturday (all day) tickets.  Did you check that out?

BTW, our offer still stands to travel with us.

Haha....thanks, Dirk. I saw that CP gives the Friday tickets but that's for an hour early entry 5-10. The Rev3 website talks about a different ticket good for TWO hours early so, 4-10. It's just an hour difference, but still..... I'm wired strange and like to know all my options.

I just bought a new set of Firecrest Zipp 404/808. Can't wait to try them out at this race. I went to the Rev3 Preview CTC held and got lost on the course, so I only know what 20 miles of the course looks like. What does everyone's taper look like from here on out?

I was looking at what was included with our registration and saw that no park tickets are included??  I did this in 2010 with my family doing the relay, and we all got tickets with our race packets that year.

There were no tickets last year. Discount on entry only, so don't expect them.
