This article talks about it...

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/cycling/story/2012-08-23/Armstrong-doping-charges/57258616/1?csp=hf

"He also will be banned for life from competing in any sport or event sanctioned by a sporting body that is a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Agency code.

The World Triathlon Corporation is a signatory to the WADA code.

Before USADA notified Armstrong in June of the charges against him, the cyclist had a deal to compete in WTC events for $1 million - a sum that was to go to his foundation. But the pending doping charges made him ineligible to compete, leaving $750,000 of that deal up in the air."

technically....no, because Triathlon is governed by WADA as stated above.  However, I'm sure there will be recommendations to WADA and WTC as to LA's elligability.  My guess is they will have to make the final decision.

I believe ITU has indicated that he is welcome to compete in their events.

I believe ITU has indicated that he is welcome to compete in their events.

I had heard that the USAT had said that he was welcome to compete in their events while he was being investigated. Now that he has decided to not go to arbitration and accept a lifetime ban, he will not be eligible to compete in USAT (or ITU) events.

Hour could race in events that are not sanctioned by federations that are WADA signatories but the lifetime ban applies across all WADA sports.

Time for a new body to emerge to allow Lance to race.  Enough is enough.

So, do we allow PEDs in events under this "new body"?

Your new body?  You taking PEDs, bear?

It's something to think about, don't you?  Allow all PED athletes to get their own sanction (like the WWE) and race - I'm sure they can get sponsors to cough up some funds for these - great publicity.  On the other hand, though, it would cause REV3 and IM branded races to get overlooked and lose funding/resources, possibly.

BTW - It's been a long time - how you doing?  Stay safe with the hurricane a'comin'!
