I am doing the Waterman's Half next month.  Has anyone done this race?  I'm trying to get a feel for what to expect. Thanks for any feedback.

I put the same post in the Virginia forum - there are a few replies there:

Yeah, I think you can count on wanting a wetsuit.

Water temp last year was 64.8 but its been a bit warmer this summer so maybe in the upper 60's? Wetsuit legal without a doubt.

I'm planning to ride the bike course on Saturday the 29th if anyone is interested in joining me.  I'm planning on starting around 8 AM, but am somewhat flexible if anyone wants to join.

I'm in for the OD.  I've seen some other posts indicating that the bike course is pretty solid, with a few rollers but nothing out of the ordinary.  I did see a post saying there's hydrilla in the water so the swim is a little swampy.

Great idea on the ride next weekend.  I would love to meet up and ride the course but will be out of town.  If you can post your thoughts, much appreciated.

Wow, what a day on Saturday at the Half!  I don't know about anyone else, but it took me until few miles into the run before my feet weren't numb any longer.   Challenging conditions for sure.

Does anyone know what the elevation gain or elevation change is for the half bike course?

Thanks and congrats to all finishers.
