That's hilarious because today a bumblebee hit me in the mouth, I could feel his furry body on my lips and he stung me on the bottom lip in that second before I spit him out/off my mouth

One of my real fears and I live in junebug territory.

One of the things you can do is take a knee high stocking and pull it over your helmet. Fix it around so you can ride and it doesn't show all that well but it'll keep things from flying into the vents.

Last year I had a honey bee get in my sunglasses and sting my eyelid.  Saturday I had a yellow jacket fly into my jersey, venture into my bra and sting me twice.  I hate bees!

Had some suicidal bugs flew into my various body parts often.

A beetle or something with hard shell hit my thigh while riding.  It hurts.

Some bugs crashed on my face on a hot and humid run and drown to death in my sweat, resulting in small black dots stuck on my cheek.

Another time a bug flew into my eye.  Killed it with a blink, but I had to stop and try to get it out as my eyes get very sensitive when foreign objects entered.  Back then I was wearing contacts.

Bee flew into my jersey and I was an idiot and tried to smash it.  Naturally, it stung me.  Had I just pulled over and opened up my jersey, I think I would have been fine.

I was stung right next to my eye last month on a beautiful Friday afternoon training run. The picture below was taken the next day. The day after that it got much worse and I got to go to the ER rather than do the Cayuga Lake tri.

I have been reading these stories for quite some time and had been fortunate enough to not have one of my own until last week.  1.5 hours into a 3 hour ride I felt something get caught in my helmet strap by my left ear and by the time I got my hand up there to knock it out my cheek was on fire.  I'm not sure what it was but I suspect it was a wasp as there was no stinger left behind.  I haven't been stung in ages and forgot how flippin' bad it hurts.  I thought about calling home for a pick up but decided to keep going.  My face was on fire for a good 30 minutes but it eventually began to subside.

Had the same thing happen to me 2 weeks ago.  But I think mine was a yellow jacket because I got stung 3 or 4 times.  I had 20 miles to go before I was home.

Yep my ear is much more swollen today than yesterday so I'm keeping my eye on it.  I'm hoping not to have to make a trip to the urgent care of ER because of a silly bee, which is now dead of course. I already cut my ride short an hour because of that little pest.  I'll stick with the pool today!
