I did day 9 this afternoon - same 3.3 miles that hurt like hell last night. Strange how one day is hard, next day is not...

Last night - 3.35 miles in 28 mins - 8:28 / mile average pace

Today - 3.35 miles (same run) in 26 mins - for a 7:45 / mile pace !!

My last mile was a 7:24!!!  I think that is the fastest mile I have ever run in training!

GO DUCKS! (sitting down to watch the game now)

Streak day 307 and a nice 14 mile run with a big hill in the middle. It is just over 700 foot elevation gain in two miles, one of my favorite routes. 52 total miles running this past week.

I went 8 for 8 with an 8 mile run yesterday. I still have to run tonight for 9.

I have changed my avatar until day 30, appropriately. Yes I know it was LeftBrain's idea first, you say, but you started this thread. So I blame you. Actually I felt pretty good after 8 miles yesterday, so this may not be all bad. I still hate you right now.

6.25 mile run today, it was not a good run for me, I couldn't wait to get back to my car.Frown Seems like every now and then I have runs that just suck

But, I don't feel as sore as I usually do after running. I used my Stick to roll my muscles and it really seems to help.

Duathlon in the morning and a short, easy run in the afternoon, so 3 on the day. I dunno, seemed like a good idea.

Geez - what do you normally run.  When I average 8:17, I am happy.  I will say though - I ran mile 3 in 7:24 the other day....my fastest training mile to date - but I am normally in the 8:15 range....

Glad your PF is getting better.

You do realize that it's only 2 miles or 20 mins to count as a "run" for this goal right?    I don't think I would personally run 6.25 miles on my "bad" run days.

Glad to hear you aren't as sore as normal - for me, I seem to have "rough" runs every 3 to 4 days, but overall, I am loving this streak....

Day 10 today - pushed it up to 6.3 miles in 51 mins....Negative split the last 3 miles, so I'm feeling pretty good.

Oh no buddy - you don't get off that easy.... I should be getting accolades from everyone for suggesting 30 runs in 30 days since LeftBrains original thread that started all this was about 100 runs in 100 days.....

Your welcome everyone.

You know what, I can't even say what I "normally" run.  When I was 50 I could still hit a 6:00 mile for one....but now, two years later, and what feels like constant injury for the first time in my life, I have no clue.

In my heart I'm still a "miler".....distance work is always a guess for me.  I've never been able to really dial it in, even after dozens and dozens of sprint and Oly triathlons and a marathon and HIM.  I always want to run as fast as I can.....pacing is not my strong suit and I always pay a price for that as the distance gets longer.

My first IM is one year from now......I'm not dillusional....I'll suffer because it feels right to me to run as fast as I can.  When I was a young man it was good....now it's a curse.

I give all of you a lot of credit and respect! It is as hard as it sounds... I set too high of a bar last few years trying to go 365/365 with a "5k a day" goal. Never got there, but here is what I learned:You DO get faster and build endurance with low daily miles and consistentyNeed to get run in as early as you can. Leave a later window at night "just in case". Put a running bag in your car for impromptu runs. Just change of clothes and shoes.Weather will eventually be a legitimate barrier. Had to join a gym just for treadmill accessibility. Only used it a few times when weather was just not safe to go out in.Take a few of those runs each week as a recovery run. It's easy to push it with shorter distances, but eventually it will catch up with most people.Have fun! Include some runs without the iPod or watch. This is a fun thread to follow, thanks for letting me read the updates and good luck all!

I don't know how I missed it before, but your avatar broke me up. Laughing

Thanks for your post......that's my deal....just trying to build some consistency and learn to run slow.....or SLOWER.  I want to be able to run into an old age.  It's not easy, truly.  I've learned that you can paint it any way you wish, but being able to keep going as you age is not about speed, it's about finding a level that you can maintain.

10 runs in 9 days !

I'm considering making mine a 100 runs in 100 days challenge (I was doing that after my IM and then I got pregnant ...). Will depend if I get in to the Chesapeake Bay Swim !

I'm changing the rules on myself and have begun to require that every run be at least 30 minutes for me to count it.

I always do a long run on the weekends this one just soured toward the endCry. I was wearing my newtons and I've never done more than a 5k in them. I paid for running longer in them.
