Just a shot in the dark here but try turning off the prerendering option.  Do the following:

  1. Click the icon on far right of address bar
  2. Click "Settings"
  3. Scroll down and click "Show advanced settings..."
  4. Uncheck "Predict network actions to improve page load performance"

Here's a reference http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en-GB&answer=1385029

I found that in my searches as well.  For me it was already off (or I turned it off at some point - I forget).  Regardless, I still get the errors with it off.

There isn't anything in our error logs related to this, and I don't experience this and I use Chrome constantly.

When this happens, can you send the following information:

- exactly what page you were trying to view

- time of day

This morning it happen 3 times in a row when I was trying to open this thread:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=468245&posts=12&start=1

This was around 6:45-7:00 AM EST.

After the 3rd time, I gave up and used Firefox and it opened immediately.

If it makes a difference, I'm using Win7 64-bit on a Dell Inspiron laptop.  I also use the AdBlock plugin, so I tried disabling it for this site and it didn't make a difference.

Also, I never have problems uploading stuff in the Training Log or reading articles.  Just seems forum related for some reason.

Mike,

At 10:20 AM this morning I was using Chrome and tried to respond to a thread http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-post.asp?action=reply&replyto=4500424#s and got the error below.  After refreshing 4 times it finally rendered and then when I clicked the "Submit" button and redirected to http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-post.asp?action=postreply I got the same error but it works with no issues in IE 9

That's the same error I get - just times out.

I'll try to time it but it seems like it takes about 30 seconds from the time a button/link is clicked until the error message is displayed.

I disabled the Skype extension and the page responses are super fast.  I'll post an update as I use it throughout the day.

GRRRRR, that didn't work

I had just read page 1 and was going to page 2 and it happened.  As soon as it happened, i tried going to my training log and the main page and none of them would load.

I also use Chrome.

Although I haven't had issues with BT, I have had some problems on other sites. Any time there was a repeated error I cleared out the browser cache. It always fixed it.

Click the Customize and control Google Chrome button to the right of the 'Star'

Select History

Click the 'Clear all browser data'

I noticed something interesting on my laptop when I started trying to dig around to see what I could find.  I noticed that in the firewall log on my laptop (Mcafee Firewall), around the time of the problems I saw the firewall blocking incoming HTTP traffic on on one particular IP address.  I entered that IP address into my browser and sure enough, it brought up BT.  Over the course of a few days, I saw this repeated pretty consistently.  So tonight I added a rule to the f/w to allow traffic from that IP - we'll see what that does.

Very strange that it would only block the one site from time to time.  I see no other entries in the firewall log that are similar.
