Hi All!  And good job getting into the saddle!

 This week 3 hours and 45 minutes - my best week yet

Total is 7 hours and 38 minutes - still behind schedual

I try not to come to this website unless I have something to post so since I didn't ride Monday I wouldn't let myself get on line to let you all know that I had gotten off the couch.  With this rule, I've been able to coax a few more workouts out of myself!

So... are there any reports we're still missing?

How's everyone doing on meeting their goals?  We've got 9 days left (if you count today)... are we gonna make it?

I'd sure hate to have to listen to One Word or Bluejack or (gawd!) Bear gloating.  So, if you need a kick in the pants, I'm happy to oblige.

goal = 15 hours and/or 250.

this week = 67.50 Mi - 5h 5m

total = 172.05 Mi - 12h 8m 46s

more time than miles because i've spent a lot of time pulling the kidlets around in the burley this week. hoping to get a couple trainer sessions in before the end of the month, plus more rides with the kids.

SenjaO - 2006-06-22 4:28 PM I posted on monday - 21 miles last week.

Sorry- I gotcha!  I posted it the first time and realized I didn't enter your total.  So then I went back and changed it, and then reattached it.  So you're on there now

Subject: No Bike!!!

Okay, so I have $5 to my name, and that's supposed to last me until the end of the month.  and now my bike is broken (I need a new rear wheel, my current one is bent, with broken spokes, and everything is rusted in place, and yes I just spent and hour trying to make the one I have work)  So, I don't want to let you all down, but I don't see how I can log in 50 more miles with no bike.

 Please don't yell at me about maintenance, as I'm borrowing a bike my friend got at a garage sale.  I do habe a bike at the house.  but it is Waaaaaaay too small and I really don't want to injure myself if at all possible.

What should I do, and can I be gracefully excused?

Well lets see you cant buy one. and ya can't get the old one fixed so you need a place to ride for free. Are you in College? yes go to the gym and spin. If no have you been a loyal customer at you LBS if yes ask for a loaner. other wise ride whatever you can get your hads on you might not be fast but I bet you will work your off going slow and then be even faster when you have your good ike back. I would let you use mine but i am in Texas.

Beg, borrow, or steal one.  You must have at least one person you know who could borrow you a bike for a week.  I don't think equipment failure was on the list of approved reasons to be excused.

Hmm. . .that is a dilemma!

 Free junker on Craig's list?

I just took two falling apart bikes to a place that fixes them up for kids and homeless in Denver, Colorado.  I found it by googling "old bikes" or something along those lines.  I wonder if Spokane has something like that and they could either fix your bike or lend you one for 50 miles.

 I'm the queen of borrow as I feel our country has way too much unused stuff in it.

Good luck!

OKay, so I thought only outside miles counted.  If I can use the gym bike, I  can make up the miles...

Yeah, that's what I'd do if I were you and had access to a gym.  Just ride for your average pace outside, trying to duplicate the resistance etc.  That is certainly acceptable.

See, that's why we're here - to give you a whole bunch of alternate strategies!
