Extreme Veteran 1942 In front of computer when typing this. | Subject: RE: FS Series Beaverdam is nicely positioned 6 weeks before Raleigh 70.3 for those looking for a tune-up race. I am leaning towards that one over White Lake OLY, which is 2 weeks later. Only problem is that it is on the same day as Triangle Ortho Sprint, which is one of my favorite races. We are really lucky here- so many good choices between FS and Setup. Thanks to both companies for all they do for us! |

Too bad BeaverDam is only 5 days after Boston. I really wanted to go back there and get revenge! I am thinking of racing the March Duathlon this coming year. That should be fun and a good test of fitness. |

My early season goal: Beat d00d's time from 2012 at Beaverdam 2013 :-) And I am toying with the Cary DU as well. I watch it every year (it starts a mile from my house) and it would be a good one to do. They have re-paved almost all the roads that were rough so you will feel like Lightening McQueen AFTER he repaved the roads in Radiator Springs. fgump, you doing the Cary DU too? |

Expert 1342 Apex, NC | Subject: RE: FS Series louiskie - Nah, Boston ain't that hard. It just hurts a lot. Here's an excerpt:Wuss. Do both. Boston ain't that hard (says someone who has never done it)... What limited your ability to perform faster: No long runs over 20. I seem to suffer about mile 22 from calf cramps. There's something missing in my nutrition plan I believe. Possibly more calf-strengthening exercises would be of benefit as well. My quads didn't take too much of a pounding on the front half, so I was still able to handle climbing pretty well on the back half, but my calves were the issue.

I'm not scared of Boston, I'm just scared of how I'm going to feel a few days after Boston. |
