I'm in.  Was a first time finisher in 2011.  Worked T2 this year.  Ive had major burnout after an awful race at Louisville, but ready to get back on the horse and see if I can best my time from '11.  Anybody in the Chattanooga area?

I am in.  I was one of the few that got in online.  There is a group of 12 from Fat Frogs Tri in Chesapeake, VA coming down and doing it together.  This will be my first one.

Got in a bad wreck the beginning of August that sidelined the rest of my season.  Most of the damage was to my face/ mainly the teeth.

Today was my first day back in the pool since the injuries.  I have been primarily running lots, biking a little.  Super excited!

I also got in online, I guess a few of us lucky ones made the cut. I'm doing IMMT (#5) and IMFL (#6) next year, so it's going to be a busy year. I ride with Fat Frogs in Va Beach, so maybe our paths will cross riding out in Pungo and NC.   Jim

Always nice to meet another Frog!  Our paths should def. cross along the road somewhere.  You should pop in sometimes to the Chesapeake shop.  We have and awesome tri team that trains together three times a week.

I'm just north of Chattanooga in Cleveland.  I'm part of the Chattanooga Tri Club and about 20 of us are doing this race.  If you aren't a member you should look into it.

I too have been a slacker after my latest IM race in Louisville.  I just needed to take a break for two months.  I'm a up at 4 am exerciser bc I have a young daughter and smoking hot wife that I like to see as much as possible.  It became all too easy to sleep in when I didn't have a race on the books.  It looks like I need to get my butt in gear now!

I'm in, apparently because of my fast typing skills...one of the lucky online registrants.  I'm coming from Spokane, WA (so, after reading the posts so far, I win for furthest distance so far!).  It will be IM #2; finished IMCDA in 2011.  Definitely looking to have some fun and make some improvements.  Look forward to chatting with everybody.  -Dave

I will do that, do you guys have Fat Frogs Tri jerseys there, the Va Beach store only sells bike jerseys and I would like to represent my LBS in an IM

I originally posted this in the wrong spot. But now that I found this thread, here you go:

So, what is everyone doing now through the winter months/off season?  We (husband and I) have done Augusta 70.3 on 9/30 and then an OLY the following weekend, which really hurt my knees. So I've been not doing much most of October.

I am now back at running 2-3 times per week, but only short stuff (3-4 miles on week days and 5/6 miles on Saturday).  I am also using this time to improve my swim and I am taking swim lessons to work on my form 2x/week. This has limited my time on the bike to only 1 ride on weekends where we currently ride about 30 miles on rollers.  Starting in January (after the swim lessons) we would like to incorporate a spin class 1x/week and up the weekend rides to about 60 miles at least 1x/month till it gets warmer.

We are planning to start the Fink Ironfit plan about middle of March to give us some leeway for repeating a week in the base or build phase for upcoming vacation etc.

Does that sound about reasonable?  I did Augusta in 5:40, hubby in 6:00 and while our goal is "to finish" in FL, we hope to be done in about 13 hrs.

When is everyone else starting their plans?

I assume all those who volunteered received this email but wanted to post this portion of it for the others.

"Approximately 1400 entries were claimed Friday and Sunday morning and when we went on line in 45 seconds all slot were spoken for. On top of that, by day’s end, all community slots were sold out."

I did Augusta as well.  I'm in week 2 of 16 marathon training (race Feb 17th).  Then, I think I will start a 36 week plan on Feb 25th to get ready for IMFL.  It starts off very slow.  Here is the link.  I plan to do Augusta again.

Book ending my season in Florida starting with FL 70.3 in May, so my training plan that I down loaded from here will start sometime soon for that.  Although I am still looking for alternatives as I have always used BT plans for 5 or 6 years now and would like something fresh.  Might even hire a coach.  With 2 HIM, and 2 iron distant races next season having some help with the builds and proper recoveries might be nice.  I don't want to start too early with the heavy training hours as next November is a long ways off yet.

I have been excited for getting back to PCB for this race since I first pressed the button and was lucky enough to get one of the online spots!!

CMonty:  Thanks, I just moved back to the area, and look to join the club soon.  Louisville cooked me good and its been nice to be off -- just too much time off.  Good to have a race on the calendar like you said.

ChrisHatcher:  Not sure if your the one I met in T2 last weekend or not, but good luck training.  Maybe see you at Augusta.

Did my first training ride of the season today, 30 miles with 2 cat 2 climbs.  Not the best ride to start with but if you don't suffer, what do you gain?  Gonna try to do a mix of these climbs with rollers throughout the winter to get legs up to speed before I get on the tri bike.  Need to start back running too.  I haven't run since Louisville due to calf strain.  So now to test it out and do a lot more stretching / foam rollin.

After officially retiring from the sport last year, I felt like something was missing from the bucket list...the full IM. I had done numerous halfs but never the full. So I decided to sign up online and got in. Long journey ahead, especially after taking a year off with no training, but I am back on the circuit. Looking at a few halfs to complement the training. Will be a year away from the family time but I am jazzed about the race.

What marathon are you doing? I have one, in Jacksonville, on the 17th also. As for training, this very well could be one and done for me on IM distance races so I want to do it right. Starting in Jan I'll be getting coaching (through someone I met on here). Have to start early as I've got 2 HIM and 3 OLY races already set up for the season, first in March. Want to try and kill myself for the next 10-12 months to go under 12 hours

Did anyone that registered online get an email to alter your registration info? I didn't pay attention that once in our spot was held for 15 minutes and put NA in all fields except Name and CC info to get in

I'm in. Will be my second after IM Louisville 2011. Hoping for an improved run this time. Main training block will gear up after Boston Marathon in April. Still may do Gulf Coast Half in May but it may be cutting it close. I enjoyed the BT IM Louisville forum so looking forward to our virtual training together.

I'm in. Signing up the day before the race this year seemed like a good idea at the time.  The day after... not so much maybe.  But I'm excited now.  Next year will be IM #4 for me.  all IMFL.  I keep flirting with the idea of doing one of the others, but I really like warm water and flat courses.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys during this next year of training and at the race!

Regarding rooms at Shores of Panama, I secured one in September, only a couple of months before the race.  Not too many left, but it was fine.  This year I'll book earlier.  I was already looking yesterday.

I just did 2012 IMFL. I wish I'd had a few mass start swims. If you get a chance, give it a go. There's nothing like it. In a bad way. But not THAT bad. Good luck!

I finished this year and not doing 2013, but wanted to share the condo I stayed at in Shores of Panama. It was unit 508. It has a reserved parking spot in the parking garage on the fifth floor. I highly recommend this unit. I booked it on VBRO. Chad Wyatt is the owner and was always able to answer phone calls. Good luck to all those who got in. It was a great course with great volunteers.
