I usually have a low BP, rarely have a triple digit number.  Average BP is 120/80 and I'm about 90/65.  My DR is not concerned about it, but I will get lightheaded if I stand up too quickly or get out of bed too fast.  What did you DR say?

Lol i never have asked about it actually. The blood pressure I got today wasn't at the doc's office, i haven't been to the doc in like 2 years.

Is 50 beats a minute pretty average for running 6-8 miles a day?

I'm not a nurse, but seems normal to me.  Depending on my training I've been there.

I'm assuming you were resting and not moving around a lot. Yes, sounds pretty normal. My bp is around 115/68. When I get up in the morning pulse is around 40. Last time I went for a physical they joked about how if they didn't know I was a runner they'd call for a crash cart.

Went to the doc this past spring while in the middle of HIM training. Nurse doing prelim BP/pulse/weight started doing a few things, looked at me funny, then left. Came back with the doc 30 seconds later, who looked at something she'd written, asked me if I ran/worked out, and do I feel OK? I said "Yes" and he gave me a "oh, OK.  That explains it. Thanks" and left. (he came back later for the actual appt, however )  My pulse was coming up at 38 on the nurses pulse/bp machine, and she was freaked out by it. Told me she'd never seen one so low.

My BP is usually around the 115/70 mark, with a resting pulse in the mid 40's.  Like Abbie said earlier, I sometimes get a little lightheaded if I stand up too quickly, but that is only if I have been sitting/laying down for an extended period.

I think it is very individual-specific.

I'm also around 90/50 or 100/50 depending on how late I was for the doc and hr 45 ish.  Not sure of the averages of 100,000 marathoners/triathletes.
