And yet they are being celebrated on reality TV.

I feel like this is the theme these days...celebrate the losers and low-lifes and do everything possible to beat down those that are successful.

RE: Reality tv...if we have the TV on in our house, we are either watching sports or Mad Men (or these car shows that my husband likes).  We have gone without cable before and were just talking about getting rid of it again.  There are hundreds of channels and NOTHING good to watch.  It feels like such a waste of time and money.

i think the effect of these shows is not to celebrate the low lifes, but to make the viewer feel better about themselves. No matter how messed up your life, family, or whatever....may be, you're never as bad as THOSE people.

I read an article about them on yahoo.  I hope it is true.  Apparently the mom is being pretty savy about the money they are receiving not spending any of it and putting it all away in equal amounts for her children's future educational expenses.

The whole thing makes me cringe and feel kinda sorry for them. I hope they don't just get exploited by the TV networks and get dumped unceremoniously when a new circus act comes to town.As for the Kardashians, the less attention they are given the better, hopefully they will get dumped unceremoniously, and live their life anonymously.
