There goes your street cred....it's Breakin' 2.  Break dancers wouldn't be caught dead using roman numerals.  Geesh.

Laughing I always wanted to be a break dancer.... I'm pretty fly for a white guy. Wink

There is just too many... and type most certainly matters. Animal House is a classic, but it's no Braveheart. Both great, big difference.

Honestly, Terminator always left an impact on me. Not because of Arnold or action, but the story line. The Matrix for the same reason.

Blue Velvet has to win the prize for the most bizzare movie of all time. That one left a mark.

You want bizarre?  A Clockwork Orange certainly qualifies as "out there."

Certainly a cult classic, but I never got into it. I think I watched it once without really paying attention. I'm not saying Blue Velevet was anything more either... but ya, wow. That one stayed with me a while.

X2.  Still not sure I have ever seen a movie better than Godfather & Part II is right up there as well.  Just spectacular writing & acting.

Army of Darkness

Nice!!

All of mine have already been mentioned:

Shawshank

American History X

Empire Strikes Back

Gladiator

Also partial to Halloween, a ground breaker for the horror genre.

Most quoted around our house is good old Wedding Crashers.  We must quote that at least daily.

"Feel th'm" (and you have to say it the WAY she says it)

"I find you!"

"Where's my little friend?"

"You motorboatin' son of a b*!"

A lot of mine have already been mentioned especially:

Shawshank

Tombstone

Army of Darkness

Back to the Future

Star Wars

Ferris Bueller

Halloween

Wedding Crashers

I'm also a big fan of:

Stargate

Unforgiven (along with almost anything associated with Clint)

Alien movies

Most Tarantino movies

I will mention that I just don't get the appeal of Will Ferrell. I don't find most of his movies remotely funny (Anchorman, Taladega Nights, Step Brothers). I just don't understand the humor of the man-child act. I have to say though that I did like Old School, The Other Guys and Zoolander.

The one that came to mind is Return of the King from Lord of the Rings.  Such a powerful film on so many levels.

Some movies that really move/moved me are Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, Schindler's List.

For comedy, Running Scared, My Cousin Vinny make me laugh.  Several more.

My favorite (which I've watched at least a hundred times) is Young Guns 2. A newer one I have seen a few times was Avatar.

I'd have a hard time picking a favorite, but two that I remember watching as a kid were:

One flew over the Cuckoo's nest, and Jericho Mile.

I never saw these in the theater, but were movies I couldn't turn off on Sunday afternoon TV specials.

Ahhhh, the good old days with only 3 channels.

I don't think its been mentioned yet (apologies if it has), Apocalypse Now. The music, the casting, the scenery, the filming, the story.... The full package. Coppola's best imo.
