I have one of those.....she dragged me to the opener of the 3rd movie back whenever....only I had to sit through the first two in order to get to the third. She got in line about 5 hours before the TEN HOUR ordeal started.

When I got there she was standing with a group of guys who were all dressed in character. I sat in my car for a bit contemplating whether I should just drive off and hope one of those guys wooed her away from me.

In a moment of weakness I broke down and stood next to her and the rest of those giggly goofs....what followed was 10 hours of hell. I have no idea how anyone can sit through even 15 minutes of any of the LOTR movies. Beer in the theater saved me.

Best invention since sliced white bread. One of my classes I took for my English degree was Film. We watched and reviewed about 15 of 100 greatest films of the last 100 years or so.

The only one we watched that I want that time back is Fellini's 8 & 1/2. Pure torture.

HA! LB, you had me cracking up reading that. While I really enjoyed the LOTR trilogy, I wouldn't dress in character...and I certainly wouldn't (couldn't?) sit through all 3 in a row.

I dressed as a 6'7" hobbit...

Now, THIS, would've been a sight to see!

bmass - 2013-04-21 8:30 PM I have seen lists that ranked "Citizen Kane" the best movie of all time. Hated it! Slow and boring. For more modern, agree with Dark Knight. I have thankfully never seen Titanic.

X2....I was wondering if anyone else was going to name Citizen Kane. I watched it because it was so highly regarded. I felt completely gipped at the end.

This thread has a bunch of examples of why there should be a 2 year cooling off period before the Oscars. Something like the Hall of Fame.

They are already primping the Matthew McConaughey AIDS movie.

Didn't see it mentioned but I was so terribly disappointed in Ironman II. I thought Ironman 1 was great. Generally I've really enjoyed the super hero movies.
