Just you me and the other 6 people on this web site who noted they are doing it

I have been doing triathlons (sprint and one olympic) for two years now. But this will be my first time doing the RBTri. This one looks short and fun. Most past reports state minimal waves but I think I saw one video from years ago with pretty high surf in the background. And it looks like one small climb on the bike after the second u-turn?

Be safe out there!

I'll be there!

Helping to set up transition tonight, setting out the bike course in the morning, racing, then tearing down the bike course after!

Homhead - There is a short steep uphill from the beach back up to Catalina Ave. You hit it at the end of both laps. It's not too tough. Then, you get to run up most of it again at the finish of the run. Good Luck!

This past spring I realized a few of us were heading in the wrong direction physically. We were getting together for poker games and kids’ birthdays, but that was it.

I went down to the beach the day before to scout out the course, and it was glorious...the sun was out, the sea was as smooth as glass, and only a hint of a breeze was blowing. “Perfect,” I thought.

I couldn't believe that my splits kept getting lower! I started to run harder after I passed the "5 km" sign and picked a few people that I wanted to pass.

As a triathlete, there is one acronym that you just can’t fathom ever having next to your name in a race report – DNF: DID NOT FINISH.
