Pre-race routine:

Hung out with the BT crew, set up transition.
Event warmup:

Got wet. That's about it.
Swim
  • 11m 24s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was my only area of improvement since the last Lake T race. I did allright, but I still have work to do.
What would you do differently?:

The usual, more OWS.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Suit came off easily. Didn't feel dizzy.
Bike
  • 38m 56s
  • 12 miles
  • 18.49 mile/hr
Comments:

My chain fell off on the first loop, and it took some effort to get it back on. Then I went too hard trying to make up time and ended up killing my legs. I lost a lot of motivation.
What would you do differently?:

Not kill myself on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

I was exhausted by the time I got into T2. I would have liked to have stayed in transition and not done the run.
Run
  • 35m 30s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 11m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

Yeah this sucked. See bike comments above.
Post race
Warm down:

Attempted to get all the chain grease off of my hands. Searched for my "lost" sandals.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think just about everyone I talked to on Thursday night felt it was too soon after Philly to be doing another race, and apparently they were right. I just didn't have a good race.

Hey, I think you did well, especially coming off Phili and having to deal w/ your chain.

You can’t PB in all your races. And you should really be happy with the swim improvement.

Keep up the good work!

yes! what Rob said

not a bad effort at all considering your great accomplishment in Philly just a few days prior and the whole bike chain thing

consider it a really good workout that surely will make you stronger for your next event

let's get some more swimming in!

Hey you did awesome! You could have stayed at T2 and skip the run, BUT you didn't!

Good job

I agree with the above comments...it would have been easier for you to skip the run but you went out there nonetheless and did the best you could on that day. I must admit it was kind of funny when you rode by with your black hands...I think we all felt your pain

I've been there with the chain thing.  Just chalk this race up as good solid training and an opportunities to learn from .  Cudos for getting out of T2 and finishing.  Gotta love seeing the improvement in the swimming.
